Welcome to Dignité Couturé, where style meets innovation, diversity is valued and fashion empowers! My name is Tonisha Muhammad, and I'm the proud Founder and CEO of this revolutionary brand dedicated to redefining fashion for amputees. As a inventor, and a passionate advocate for inclusivity; my mission is to create unisex clothing that not only meets the practical needs of individuals with limb loss but also celebrates their unique style and confidence. 

From a young age, I've always been driven by a deep desire to create. I vividly remember my sixth- grade year, dreaming of being an inventor- transforming ideas into tangible solutions. That passion led me to become a cosmetologist at the age of 18, while I developed a love for self-expression through personal style. Over the years, I've honed my skills as a product developer.

After years of developing my skills as a  professional cosmetologist, and later a direct support profession to adults with intellectual disabilities, furthermore, a certified phlebotomy technician(CPT II), and a healthcare professional as an  certified nurse assistant; specializing in hospice care, mental health, rehab, recovery, providing compassionate bedside nursing with over 20 years of experience; I merged my expertise in design and empathy in culminating creation of adaptive clothing a revolutionary line specifically, designed for individuals with limb loss. 

Pioneering change: At Dignité  Couturé, we are breaking barriers in fashion, innovation, and representation. Founded by Tonisha Muhammad, our brand is built on purpose- driven design and personal experience. Tonisha is the proud inventor of Uniped Pants - Adaptive Wear for Amputees, a revolutionary garment created to empower amputees with comfort, style, and dignity.

In a historic achievement, Tonisha was granted U.S. Patent No. 12,144,383 B2 by the United States Patent and Trademark Office - making her a trailblazer in multiple ways. She is among the 13% of women patent holders in the United States, and even more remarkably, among the less than 3% of African American inventors to ever be awarded a U. S patent. As a first - generation inventor, Tonisha's work not only innovates in the field of adaptive fashion - it also breaks systemic barriers in patent ownership, entrepreneurship, and advancing representation.

Our mission is to continue pushing boundaries and creating inclusive solutions that empowers the underrepresented. Nevertheless, my journey doesn't stop there. I've expanded my vision to include costume jewelry, accessories, hosiery, and sleepwear.
